The brief

Client need & context

The kitchen lacked sufficient upper storage, despite benefiting from a generous opening that brought in abundant natural light. The challenge was to substantially increase storage capacity while preserving this brightness, which was essential to the comfort and spatial quality of the room.

Design constraints

Constraints that shaped the project

  • Absence of upper cabinets
  • Strong need for increased storage
  • Presence of a large, structuring window
  • Essential preservation of natural light
💡

Editorial note — Key decision

  • Recomposition of the internal elevation around the window
  • Recentring of the opening to free up lateral storage zones
  • Installation of upper cabinetry integrated into the new composition
  • Preservation of a generous and balanced flow of daylight
Scope

What was included

🪵

Furniture & fittings

A complete modular kitchen reimagined to maximise vertical storage while preserving the architectural balance of the room. The composition incorporated wall and base units in Eucalyptus Green, paired with a solid teak wood worktop, bringing depth, warmth, and elegance to a project in which functionality and natural light needed to coexist with precision.

Project manager coordination

Project coordination made it possible to orchestrate with precision the interventions related to the reconfiguration of the internal elevation and the installation of the cabinetry. Site measurements, layout validation, team supervision, alignment control, and on-site adjustments ensured a smooth execution and a final result faithful to the project’s ambition: more storage, without compromise to light or aesthetics.

Project learnings

What this project revealed

The performance of a kitchen often lies in the dialogue between architecture and joinery. By reworking the wall composition rather than setting storage and light in opposition, the project achieved a rare balance between enhanced functionality and preserved spatial quality.
