The brief

Client need & context

In this studio, the client wanted a fully equipped kitchen without feeling, from the sleeping area, the overly visible presence of technical functions. The project needed to preserve a soft, orderly, residential atmosphere, capable of visually receding the appliances in favour of a calmer and more refined reading of the space as a whole.

Design constraints

Constraints that shaped the project

  • Compact studio with close proximity between kitchen and sleeping area
  • Refusal of an overly technical or utilitarian feel
  • Need to retain all essential functions
  • Importance of flawless visual integration
💡

Editorial note — Key decision

  • Integration of a fully built-in refrigerator
  • Concealment of the appliance behind cabinetry-matched fronts
  • Installation of a discreet tambour-style closure
  • Alignment of front lines to soften the visual presence of the kitchen
Scope

What was included

🪵

Furniture & fittings

A complete modular kitchen designed for discreet integration within a studio setting, with built-in appliances and a façade concealing the refrigerator behind a perfectly unified visual composition. The scheme combined Arctic Grey wall units, Hamilton Oak base units, and a Chiva White granite worktop, achieving a refined balance between mineral softness and the warmth of wood.

Project manager coordination

Project learnings

What this project revealed

In small spaces, the success of a project depends as much on perception as on functionality. By rendering the appliances invisible, the kitchen no longer visually dominates the studio, making way for an atmosphere that feels calmer, more domestic, and more refined.
